Concerts take places in Prague historic spots - Municipal House at Namesti Republiky square, near to the metro station "Namesti republiky" ( line B ), Bethlehem Chapel at Bethlehem square and St. George´s Basilica at Prague Castle. All programmes are performed by Prague Royal Symphonic Orchestra or Prague Royal Orchestra under artistic leader Mis. Jitka Horska and conductor Mr. Jaroslav Vodòansky. |
| 1) The Municipal House represents the most significant feature of the Prague Art Nouveau period, and which is also the seat of the Prague Symphonic Orchestra. The concert halls of the Municipal House is one of Prague´s most impressive and significant concert halls, primarly due to superior acoustic and its magnificient Art Nouveau interior. The building is crowned by the outstanding decor created by most of the prominent Czech artists of the day, namely the painters and the sculptors: Alfons Mucha, Max Svabinsky, Frantisek Zenisek, Bohumil Kafka, Josef Vaclav Myslbek. | 2) The St. George´s Basilica at Prague Castle is one of the oldest church buildings in Prague. Despite numerous restorations this monastery dates back to the year 920 and ranks great monuments of Romanesque architecture in Bohemia. Several Czech princes of the house of Premyslid, including the founder of basilica, Prince Vratislav, are buried here. The tomb of St. Ludmila a patron saint of the Bohemia Lands, is located in the chapel. In the year 973 the convent of St. Geoge was founded at the basilica. It was the first convent of Benedictine nuns in Bohemia. It´s abbess was always chosen from the family of the sovereign or a high noble. It now houses the early Bohemian art collection of the National Galery.No barrier to entry for handicapped. | |
| 3) Bethlehem Chapel the first cathedral of preacher in europe, was originally built in the years 1391 to 1394. The historical building is one of the national and culture treasures of Prague. The building has a long and rich background. The preacher Jan Hus operated the chapel from 1402 to 1413. Recently after this period, the Bethlehem chapel was affiliated with the Czech Technical University and from 1638 to 1661 the Chapel was actually the property of the University. For the tradition of University the Bethlehem Chapel became a ceremonial hall of the Czech Technical Uniersity in Prague. It is a pleasure that we are able to offer the concerts in the beautiful and historically imporant Bethlehem Chapel.No barrier to entry for handicapped.Concert hall is heated. | |

Prague Royal Symphonic Orchestra and Prague Royal Orchestra
was
founded in 1997 at the National Theatre and the State Opera House. Its
consists of highly experienced, professional musicians from the
National Theatre, the State Opera House, Czech Radio, the Prague Symphonic
Orchestra and the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra. Throughout the entire period
of its existence, it has been a part of both Czech and international musical
culture. Jaroslav
Vodnansky - conductor and artistic director After
graduating from the Prague Conservatory, Mr. Vodnansky studied at the Prague
Academy of Musical Arts . He was also the founder, and for long time, the
principal conductor of the Philharmonic Orchestra in Ceske Budejovice.
Together with the Royal Prague Symphonic Orchestra, Mr. Vodnansky has
performed numerous successful done concerts in the USA, Japan, and
South Korea, as well as in most of the European countries, including Germany,
Austria, Switzerland, Denmark, Belgium, France and Spain. He has also
conducted a number of live broadcast concerts on Czech TV and radio, and has
been involved in CD recordings og classical music.Mr. Vodnansky was honoured
